Bell Helicopter participated in the Rotor & Wing International’s Rotorcraft Technology Summit held September 19-20 in Fort Worth, Texas.

This event is designed specifically to identify and explain new and developing innovations that can help leaders in this industry achieve business and operational goals—whether they run a commercial helicopter outfit, public agency aviation section, rotorcraft and engine manufacturer, equipment supplier or maintenance, repair and overhaul facility.

Bell Helicopter presented a guest lecture on the topic, Exploring the Future of Technologies of Flight, which took attendees through Bell Helicopter’s 10 tenets of innovation and how the company is continuing on their legacy of 80 years of innovation.

“As a leader in the industry, Bell Helicopter was honored to take part in this event and discuss best practices and new technologies and advancements that will help move the industry forward,” said Scott Drennan, Bell Helicopter’s director of Innovation. “We have created a culture of innovation at Bell Helicopter and will continue to test new concepts, ideas and technologies that will enable us to design, build and provide the most modern products to our customers.”

Additionally, the company participated in a panel discussion on the Technologies on the Operations Horizon, which examined new technological applications for rotorcraft, including increased automation, synthetic vision, advanced batteries and electric and hybrid propulsion systems.

“Innovation can be found in all areas of the development process at Bell Helicopter,” said Josh O’Neil, Bell Helicopter’s Bell 525 manager of Flight Technology and Test. “This has been a focus at Bell Helicopter since our inception and something we strive to maintain in all our initiatives. We look at where we can apply innovative practices not only for our aircraft, but in other emerging technologies to provide something beyond our customer’s needs.”
