As the premier flight training academy of the Middle East, Horizon International flight academy has been forming the region’s best pilots since 2003. Today, the Academy has graduated 1,300 pilots from the UAE, the GCC, and other nations. The academy was created by in accordance with His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Commander in Chief of the UAE Armed Forces to become a high quality training facility in the UAE. Today they ensure that both men and women pilots receive the best training available in their fleet of Bell 407s and 206s.

With regular sunny days and lack of rain storms, Horizon trainees can maximize their training time and take advantage of the great flying weather. However, the desert, large gaps in power sources and mountainous terrain present rare and valuable learning opportunities. The staff, a diverse team of multinational instructors, are amongst the most qualified in the region. Horizon guarantees individual attention during all the phases of training by maintaining an enviable instructor-to-student ratio of nearly 1:3, or better.

The academy is also looking to the future to expand their training programs. The recently added a new Bell 407 FNPT II flight simulator in the first quarter of 2016. Training capacity was also increased with the addition of nine new helipads during the last two years, bringing the total number of helipads supporting the daily operations to 19.

With these new developments, Horizon can execute safer training practices on a larger scale. While in the UAE, be on the lookout for future pilots flying above your head in Horizon’s orange and white Bell 407. Horizon will introduce a twin engine helicopter in the near future to satisfy the twin engine training demand in the region.
